Yaya Toure heaped praise on Frank Lampard after the Manchester City midfielder drew level with Thierry Henry on 175 Premier League goals.

The former Chelsea midfielder scored the winner for the defending champions at Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, moving into joint fourth place in the list of all-time Premier League goal-scorers.

Lampard, who holds the record of being Chelsea’s leading goal scorer, netted in the 40th minute as the 36-year-old took his tally to four league goals since he joined City on loan from MLS outfit New York City.

And his Citizens team-mate Toure hailed Lampard’s achievement as the veteran midfielder equalled Arsenal legend Herny’s Premier League tally.

“Happy to be heading back to Manchester with another three points! Thank you to all those that cheered us on!” Toure wrote on Twitter.

“Special mention to my teammate Frank Lampard – 175 goals in the Premier League! Wow. Always a pleasure to play with him. Top player.”
