Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal will be without Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny for a “couple of weeks”.

Ramsey is currently sidelined with a hamstring strain, while Koscielny is struggling with an Achilles problem.

Both players sat out Saturday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium and neither will be fit for next Sunday’s trip to Liverpool.

“Ramsey and Koscielny will be out for a couple of weeks,” Wenger said. “They will not be available next week.”

Wenger also confirmed that he plans to dip into the transfer market to sign a central defender next month.

Asked if he will look to sign a centre-half, Wenger told Sky Sports: “Well yes, because with Laurent Koscielny’s injury we’re a bit cautious and we need cover.
