Arsene Wenger is “hopeful” that Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal will be fit for Arsenal’s clash with Southampton on Wednesday.

The duo are both set to undergo late fitness tests after picking up problems during the 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

The Frenchman also revealed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a doubt for the game at Emirates Stadium after he picked up a knee issue at The Hawthorns.

“We have some question marks about Nacho Monreal, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain,” Wenger said on Tuesday.

“I’m hoping that one of Gibbs or Monreal will be available. Everybody else looks to be available.”

The Arsenal manager also delivered updates about goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Mathieu Debuchy.

He added: “Szczesny is still out, Debuchy and David Ospina one week away.”
