Theo Walcott will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool on Sunday, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The England international has been out of action since early November after suffering a groin injury while on international duty with England but returned to training this week.

Wenger also confirmed that Nacho Monreal and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be assessed before the trip to Merseyside, but Laurent Koscielny remains sidelined.

“Monreal final decision tomorrow, Oxlade-Chamberlain has not practiced, Walcott, we make a decision tomorrow,” said Wenger.

“Koscielny is still out at the back. Nobody else is coming back apart from [Calum] Chambers, who was suspended last week.

“He [Walcott] had one training session with the team. It’s very early for him.”

Asked about Aaron Ramsey’s hamstring injury, Wenger added: “I am scared he will miss the Christmas period. He should be back end of December, beginning of January.”
