Arsenal transfers: Campbell joins Villarreal ahead of Paulista move
Joel Campbell joins Villarreal on loan
Joel Campbell has joined Villarreal on loan until the end of the season.
The Costa Rica international has struggled to earn a starting spot in the Arsenal side despite his impressive World Cup performances in Brazil last summer.
Campbell has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League, racking up only 39 minutes of top-flight action in the current campaign.
The 22-year-old took to Twitter to thanks Arsenal supporters earlier on Tuesday before the La Liga club confirmed the move.
Thanks to the whole family of Arsenal for their messages. I hope to make them proud #COYG

Earlier this week, Villarreal announced that they had struck a deal with Arsenal for the sale of Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista.
The Gunners had been heavily linked with a swoop for the Brazilian defender in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his defensive options at Emirates Stadium.
The tweet said: “Agreement with Arsenal for Gabriel, who will say goodbye today after game. Good Luck!”
