Arsene Wenger backs Man United to progress
Arsene Wenger is backing Manchester United to join Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup
Arsene Wenger believes that Manchester United will join Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup despite being taken to a replay by Cambridge United.
The Red Devils were held to a goalless draw on Friday night as the likes of Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria failed to help Louis van Gaal’s side make it through.
Holders Arsenal booked their spot in the fifth round thanks to an entertaining 3-2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
And Gunners boss Wenger feels that his side will be one of the favourites to win the competition along with the likes of United, should they progress.
“You always want to know what will happen and I always have to stop people from thinking what will happen because nobody really knows,” Wenger told a news conference after his side’s win at Brighton.
“We will be one of the favourites because I think Manchester United could go through and some other Premier League teams will go through.
“We’ll be amongst them but we cannot predict who will win it.”
Arsenal host Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium in the Premier League next weekend as they look to continue their push for Champions League qualification.
The north London side are currently fifth in the table after their 2-0 win at Manchester City earlier this month.
