Ben Williams has revealed that Jose Mourinho paid a visit to the away team dressing room to congratulate Bradford City after their shock 4-2 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
The Blues went 2-0 up inside 38 minutes of the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Gary Cahill and Ramires.
However, the visitors fought back through Jon Stead’s goal before half-time.
City then added three more in the second half thanks to goals from Felipe Morais, Andy Halliday and Mark Yeates as they secured a stunning fourth-round win against the Premier League leaders.
And City shot-stopper Williams has described how the Chelsea boss saluted his side’s efforts after the final whistle.
“I got my little boy on the pitch with me after the game and the fans were amazing, they didn’t want to leave,” Williams told BBC Sport after the game.
“Then Jose Mourinho came in to the dressing room and wished us well, congratulated us.
“It was a very surreal moment. In he walked and the celebrations just stopped. Everyone was silent and in amazement that this figure had waltzed in, with the aura he has. He was very respectful, very humble.
“That was the icing on the cake. The look on everyone’s faces in the dressing room was fantastic, it’s something I’ll never forget.”
Chelsea’s next game is the return leg of their League Cup semi-final tie with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Anfield last week.
