Cambridge can shock Man United, claims Dion Dublin
Dion Dublin claims that Cambridge United are capable of beating Louis van Gaal's side
Cambridge United are capable of securing a shock victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup, according to Dion Dublin.
The Red Devils are inevitably the heavy favourites to reach the fifth round of the competition when they travel the Abbey Stadium on Friday night.
But former Cambridge United man Dublin feels that his old club do have a realistic chance of beating the Premier League side.
“I think Manchester United should win the tie with no problem, but if Cambridge give everything they’ve got and have 11 players playing out of their skin then there may be a surprise,” Dublin is quoted as saying by Goal.com
Dublin helped Cambridge reach back-to-back FA Cup quarter-finals during his spell at the club.
United, who have not won the FA Cup in 11 years, head into Friday’s clash in fourth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Cambridge managed to hold Manchester United to a 1-1 draw when the two sides last met in a League Cup tie back in October 1991.
Van Gaal’s United side host Leicester City at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game.
