Chelsea transfers: Douglas Costa fuels talk of Blues move
Douglas Costa says that it would be a dream to play for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho
Douglas Costa has further fuelled the speculation linking him with a January transfer to Chelsea by revealing his admiration for Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
The west London club have been reported to have tabled a £16.5m bid for the Shakhtar Donetsk forward as Mourinho considers bolstering his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.
Costa has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the past and has been touted as a target for Chelsea for some time.
Now, the 24-year-old has revealed that he would love the opportunity to play for Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
“To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player. It is standing next to some of the best players in the world and competing with the world’s best as well,” Costa told GloboEsporte.
“But really, what catches my eye is the coach.
“He is a very intelligent coach and has been victorious wherever he went. One of the things that would make me happier to act at Chelsea would be this.”
Mourinho’s Chelsea host Liverpool in the return leg of their League Cup semi-final tie on Tuesday after their shock 4-2 FA Cup defeat by Bradford City on Saturday.
The Blues, who are five points clear at the top of the table, then take on defending champions Manchester City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
