Chelsea transfers: Douglas Costa talks up Blues move

Douglas Costa admits that he would love to join Chelsea

Douglas Costa has fuelled the speculation linking him with a January transfer to Chelsea by admitting that it would be a “dream” to play for the west London club.

The Blues are reported to have tabled a £16.5m bid for the Shakhtar Donetsk forward as Jose Mourinho considers bolstering his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.

Costa has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the past and has been touted as a target for Chelsea for some time.

Now, the 24-year-old has revealed that he would jump at the chance to join the Blues.

“It would be a dream to play for Chelsea,” Costa is quoted as saying by Metro. “It’s a unique chance. I will try to negotiate.”

Costa has scored one goal and made one assist in the Champions League for Shakhtar this season and has also netted once in the league in 10 appearances.

Mourinho’s Chelsea side, who are top of the Premier League, host Bradford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
