Chelsea transfers: Jose Mourinho responds to Juan Cuadrado reports
Jose Mourinho plays down talk of Chelsea moving to sign Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina
Jose Mourinho insists that Chelsea have no plans to sign Juan Cuadrado amid the speculation linking the winger with a transfer to Stamford Bridge this month.
The Fiorentina star has been touted as a possible target for the west London club, with reports claiming that the Blues would be sure to move for the winger should Andre Schurrle or Mohamed Salah leave Stamford Bridge this month.
However, the Chelsea boss, whose side host Bradford City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, played down any talk of signing the Colombia international.
Asked specifically if Chelsea are interested in signing Cuadrado, Mourinho told a news conference on Friday afternoon: “There are no men marked [to come in].
“He’s a Fiorentina player. You ask me 20 names, if I don’t know them, trouble. My son knows them! It’s my job.
“I think he fits well in Fiorentina squad, and Colombia squad, not in Chelsea squad.”
Mourinho also said that he would like to keep his whole squad together this month amid claims that Salah and Schurrle could be on their way out of Stamford Bridge this month.
Chelsea are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
