Chelsea transfers: Juan Cuadrado going nowhere, insists Fiorentina boss
Vincenzo Montella says Juan Cuadrado won't leave Fiorentina
Vincenzo Montella is adamant that Chelsea target Juan Cuadrado won’t be leaving Fiorentina in the January transfer window.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks amid reported interest from the Blues and Manchester United.
The 26-year-old has been one of Fiorentina’s top performers in Serie A this season, scoring four goals and making four assists in 16 top-flight games.
And Fiorentina manager Montella was emphatic in his stance that the highly-rated South American won’t be moving away from Florence any time soon.
“As of today there is no possibility Cuadrado will leave Fiorentina,” Montella is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“He knows that certain things get exaggerated. It’s just idle chatter, he’s pretty accustomed to it.”
Cuadrado scored a first-half penalty as La Viola were 3-0 winners against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night.
The Fiorentina forward rose to prominence after his impressive performances for Colombia during the summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
The former Udinese star has scored 20 goals in 84 Serie A appearances for the Florence outfit following his move in 2012.
