Chelsea transfers: Michah Richards backs Juan Cuadrado to prove Blues hit
Micah Richards believes Juan Cuadrado would have no trouble adapting to Premier League
Chelsea target Juan Cuadrado would be suited to the Premier League, according to Micah Richards.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks amid reported interest from the Blues and Manchester United.
The 26-year-old, who has a £26.1m contract release clause, has been one of Fiorentina’s top performers in Serie A this season, scoring four goals and making four assists in 17 top-flight games.
Fiorentina defender Richards, who moved to Florence on a season-long loan from Manchester City in August, talked up the South American’s qualities.
“After the World Cup, he had lot of teams looking at his situation and I have heard all the top teams in England are looking at him and so they should be,” Richards told Sky Sports News.
“I have been training with him every day and he’s got everything; technique speed power pace. All his attributes would be suited to the Premier League so I can see exactly why he is being linked with a move there.”
Cuadrado helped La Viola to draw 1-1 with top-three rivals Roma on Sunday, helping the Florence side climb up to sixth in the Serie A table.
The Fiorentina forward rose to prominence after his impressive performances for Colombia during the summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
The former Udinese star has scored 20 goals in 85 Serie A appearances for the Florence outfit following his move in 2012.
