Juan Mata warns Man United over Cambridge United replay

Juan Mata warns Manchester United to take nothing for granted ahead of their FA Cup replay

Juan Mata has warned Manchester United to expect a tough encounter when they take on Cambridge United in their FA Cup fourth-round replay.

The Red Devils were held to a goalless draw by the League Two side on Friday night as the likes of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao failed to break down the stubborn U’s.

United will now welcome Cambridge to Old Trafford as they look to join the likes of Arsenal and Southampton in the fifth round of the competition.

But playmaker Mata has told his team-mates that the tie will be far from easy for Louis van Gaal’s side.

“Last Friday we drew in Cambridge in the FA Cup,” Mata wrote on his blog. “It was a very physical game, played in tricky conditions, and now there will be a replay at home to try to get to the next round.

“On paper, it may seem easy to beat a team of a lower division. It is not.

“We just have to take the example of last Saturday, with two big clubs being knocked out at home. It reminds us that the FA Cup is full of surprises. Also, it should be a warning sign for us ahead of our replay.”

Mata, who moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea a year ago, has scored five goals and made three assists for United in the Premier League so far this season.

The Red Devils host Leicester City at Old Trafford next weekend looking to avenge their 5-3 shock loss earlier this season.
