Liverpool transfers: Mario Balotelli happy at Anfield, insists agent

Mario Balotelli's Mino Raiola insists the striker is set to remain at Liverpool

Mario Balotelli is happy at Liverpool despite being out-of-favour under Brendan Rodgers, according to the striker’s agent.

The Italy international hasn’t started a game for the Merseyside outfit since a 2-1 defeat by Chelsea at Anfield in early November.

Balotelli, 24, has been linked with an early return to Serie A in recent weeks amid reported interest from Napoli and Sampdoria.

However, the Liverpool forward’s agent Mino Raiola insisted that Balotelli has reacted in a positive manner to words of encouragement from manager Rodgers.

“Yes, he is happy at Liverpool. Nobody is happy to be left out but he reacted in a professional way,” Raiola told Sky Sports News.

Balotelli has struggled to find goal-scoring form for Liverpool since joining the Merseyside club from AC Milan in a £16m deal last summer.

The former Manchester City man is yet to find the net in the Premier League despite making 12 appearances in the top flight this term.

Liverpool face Chelsea in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.
