Lucas Leiva apologies to Reds fans after League Cup semi-final disappointment
Lucas Leiva has apologised to Liverpool supporters after the Reds missed out on a place in the Capital One Cup final.
Liverpool travelled to west London needing to score at Stamford Bridge after a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the first leg last week.
However, Chelsea booked their place in the Wembley final after Branislav Ivanovic’s headed winner in the fourth minute of extra-time.
Reds midfielder Lucas was quick to take to Twitter to apologise to the club’s fans following the narrow League Cup defeat.
Just want to thank you the support we got and say sorry that we couldn't make to the final. YNWA

Diego Costa was denied a first-half penalty before Chelsea goalkeeper denied Alberto Moreno and Philippe Coutinho with two brilliant saves.
Chelsea defender Ivanovic finally made the breakthrough in the 94th minute, guiding an emphatic header past Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Liverpool were unable to conjure an equaliser which would have forced penalties as Chelsea reached the first cup final since Jose Mourinho’s return.
