Man United transfers: Mats Hummels coy on Borussia Dortmund future
Mats Hummels is ignoring speculation surrounding his Borussia Dortmund future
Mats Hummels has remained tightlipped on reports linking the Borussia Dortmund centre-half with a move to Manchester United.
The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since Louis van Gaal’s appointment at the English club last May.
Hummels has been the subject of relentless speculation in recent weeks, intensified by Dortmund’s poor form in the Bundesliga.
The Germany centre-half pointed out that he has remained a Dortmund player despite speculation surrounding the defender for 12 months.
“It’s not the case with any of us that this has been written for the first time. And with me rumours are always going around, but I’m still here,” Hummels told Bild.
“I’ll let everything come to me and just look forward to the restart [of the Bundesliga] at Leverkusen. Everything else, I’m not thinking about.”
Hummels is expected to line up for Dortmund at Bayer Leverkusen when the Bundesliga resumes this weekend after the winter break.
The Dortmund star was part of Germany’s squad that won the World Cup in the summer, has scored one goal in 10 Bundesliga appearances this season.
Hummels has scored 21 goals in 240 appearances for Dortmund following his move from Bayern Munich in 2007.
