Man United transfers: Nani discusses his Red Devils future
Nani suggests that he would be keen to return to Manchester United at the end of the season
Nani insists that he would be happy to return to Manchester United at the end of his season-long loan spell at Sporting Lisbon.
The Portugal international joined his former club in the summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by incoming manager Louis van Gaal.
However, the 28-year-old, who is out of contract at United next summer, has suggested that he would like another chance to prove himself at the Premier League club.
“I just need someone to believe in me, trust me and my qualities, and give me an opportunity to show them on the pitch,” Nani told BT Sport.
“It’s an experience I wanted a lot and needed as well because the last two seasons at Manchester United I had so many injuries and I was very upset with a lot of things that happened to me.
“I was missing my family and friends and I wanted something new. The only opportunity I had to be happy, and Manchester United to be happy as well, was this one.”
Portugal winger Nani has scored seven goals in 19 games for Sporting Lisbon so far this season and has also notched up two assists.
Van Gaal’s Manchester United side were held to a disappointing goalless draw by Cambridge United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night.
The Red Devils’ next game is a home clash with Leicester City at Old Trafford next weekend.
