Raheem Sterling and Alberto Moreno take to Instagram following 1-1 draw with Chelsea
Raheem Sterling switched his focus to Liverpool’s FA Cup clash against Bolton Wanderers after a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final.
The Reds fell behind in the first half on Tuesday night after Eden Hazard scored from the penalty spot following Emre Can’s reckless challenge on the Belgium international.
But Liverpool struck back through Sterling after the Liverpool forward raced past Nemanja Matic and Gary Cahill before the forward finished past Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
And the 20-year-old thanked the Liverpool fans for their noisy support following the England international’s seventh goal of the season in all competitions.
Sterling wrote: “Great support on to the game at the weekend against Bolton”
Liverpool vice-captain Jordan Henderson was quick to praise Sterling for a brilliant equaliser, whilst expressing his satsifaction with a good Reds performance against the Premier League leaders.
Henderson posted: “Brilliant goal from @31sterling and good performance from the lads last night. YNWA”
Finally, Reds left-back Alberto Moreno was pleased with Liverpool’s performance as the Spain Under-21 international eyes his first League Cup final.
“Great game today lads!! come on Liverpool FC you’ll never walk alone,” Moreno added.
