Andy Murray appears to be putting a lot of work into his serve judging by his Instagram post on Thursday.

The British No1 will face Portugal’s Joao Sousa in the third round after coasting through his opening two tests against over India’s Yuki Bhambri and Australian Marinko Matosevic.

Murray came perilously close to hitting his coach Amelie Mauresmo during a practice session, posting a photo of the former Wimbledon champion ducking to avoid a serve.

Murray wrote: “This serve was probably a little bit too close to your head today.. Sorry Amelie! #AusOpen2015”

The 27-year-old began working with the former French number one in June after he spit with his long-term coach Ivan Lendl at the start of the year.

Murray is a three-time Australian Open runner-up after losing to Roger Federer in 2010 before defeats by Novak Djokovic in 2011 and 2013.

The 2013 BBC Sports Personality of the Year won the US Open, Wimbledon and Olympic gold during a dominant 18-month run.
