Daniel Sturridge is a happy man right now...
Daniel Sturridge declared himself a happy man after his first day of full Liverpool training on Sunday following his lengthy lay-off.
The England international has not featured for the Reds since August after suffering a string of niggling calf and thigh problems.
However, the forward took part in training on Sunday morning after Liverpool’s goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
And the striker, who spent part of his rehabilitation in the United states, took to Instagram to reveal his delight at finally returning for a full session at Melwood.
Sturridge posted the photo above on his Instagram account and wrote: “First day of training today. I’m a happy man right now.”
Liverpool take on Chelsea on Tuesday night looking to book their place in the League Cup final, before a home clash with West Ham United in the Premier League at Anfield on 31 January.
Rodgers’ side are currently eighth in the Premier League table after 22 games, and 17 points behind leaders Chelsea.
