Emmanuel Adebayor can't wait for his next Tottenham Hotspur appearance
Emmanuel Adebayor was delighted to make his White Hart Lane return after his cameo appearance in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
Adebayor hadn’t featured for the north London side since November after Spurs granted the forward a spell of compassionate leave to sort out family problems in Togo.
The controversial 30-year-old forward was booed by some Tottenham supporters upon his return to Mauricio Pochettino’s side at the weekend.
However, Adebayor clearly wasn’t affected as he took to Instagram to express his delight at a long-awaited Premier League return.
Adebayor wrote: “SEA, glory be to God, feeling good after my first game back looking forward to the next one. #Godisgood #Godisthereason #coys #workhard #playhard #thefutureisbrighter #hope #lifesgood”
Adebayor has scored two goals and has made one assist in 14 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season.
The former Togo international has racked up just 797 minutes of Premier League action, significantly less than Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado.
Adebayor has scored 41 goals in 106 appearances for the north London side after he joined on loan in 2011 before sealing a permanent move in 2012.
