John Terry posts a photo from early stage of his Chelsea career
John Terry has drawn inspiration from Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola ahead of the visit of Manchester City on Saturday.
The Blues skipper posted a photo of himself as a 16-year-old on laundry duty, whilst Zola dons his boots for an impromptu free-kick session.
In a lesson for budding footballers following the Chelsea star on Instagram, the 34-year-old underlined Zola’s incredible dedication to improvement.
Terry posted the above snap and wrote this caption: “I had to post this pic of me as a young 16 year old. Cleaning and picking up kit was one of my duties along with hoovering the dressing rooms, cleaning the toilets and showers.
“I loved every minute of it and felt so lucky to be able to share the building with the likes of Zola who was superb with all the young players,Franco is putting his boots on to go out and in the afternoon when everyone had left and practice his free kicks and technique. Scoring 8 out of 10 free kicks wasn’t good enough for him.
“What an example. Chelsea and football LEGEND.”
Jose Mourinho’s side are five points clear of second-placed City ahead of the league leaders clash against the defending champions at Stamford Bridge.
The west London side booked their place in the Capital One Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur after the Blues edged to a 2-1 aggregate victory over Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Former England captain Terry has won three Premier League titles, five FA Cups, the Champions League, the Europa League and two League Cups during his Chelsea career.
