Arsenal confirm the signing of Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw for an undisclosed fee.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Poland youth international this month as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his squad.
Bielik, who made his senior debut for the Polish club in August aged 16, has featured five times for Legia in the league and once in the Europa League.
Arsenal confirmed the news of the signing on their official Twitter account on Wednesday morning.
Wenger spoke glowingly of the teenager when asked about the possibility of Arsenal signing him before last weekend’s 2-0 win at Manchester City.
“He’s a defensive midfielder, 6ft 2in [tall], has a good energy level and technical level,” Wenger told an Arsenal news conference last week.

“It’s a gamble but, on what we saw, it’s worth to take the gamble. It’s an awful lot of money for a player if he doesn’t succeed. If he does succeed, then it’s cheap.”
Arsenal’s next game is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The north Londoners are set to be without captain Mikel Arteta and defender Mathieu Debuchy for around three months after the pair underwent surgery to solve ankle and shoulder problems last week.
