Dejan Lovren hails Liverpool's 'beast'

Dejan Lovren heaped praise on Daniel Sturridge after the Liverpool ‘beast’ scored on his return from injury.

The Reds forward came off the bench to net an 80th-minute strike, sealing a 2-0 victory over West Ham United at Anfield.

Earlier, England international Raheem Sterling broke the deadlock with a clinical finish six minutes after half-time.

And unused substitute Lovren was quick to hail Sturridge after the Liverpool striker’s second goal of the season.

Lovren posted the above photo on Instagram, adding the following caption: “What a come back well done (beast) @dstudge and all the lads #YNWA”

Sturridge hadn’t featured for the Merseyside outfit since a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in late August.

The Liverpool forward scored his only top-flight goal of the season in a 2-1 victory over Southampton on the opening day.

Sturridge completed a move to Anfield from Chelsea in a £12m deal in January 2013, scoring 32 goals in 47 top-flight appearances.
