Daniel Sturridge enjoyed some down time before heading to Anfield to watch the Reds face his former side Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round.

The England international is edging his way back to full fitness after a string of calf and thigh problems have kept the popular forward out-of-action since August.

Sturridge will be disappointed to miss the chance to face his former club after he scored eight goals in 12 Premier League appearances during a sixth-month loan spell at The Reebok.

The Liverpool striker posted the above photo accompanied by the following caption:

“Bout to head to watch the boys play against my old team Bolton. @nike tracksuit n AirMax = comfy..”

The Reds forward is nearing a return to first-team action after the former Chelsea man spent the winter period in Los Angeles working on his fitness.

Sturridge hasn’t featured for the Reds since a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in August due to a string of calf and thigh injuries.

The striker, who moved to Liverpool from Chelsea in a £12m deal in January 2013, has scored one goal in three Premier League appearances this season.

Sturridge has scored 31 goals in 42 top-flight games for Brendan Rodgers’s side.
