Steven Gerrard wishes Suso all the best with his AC Milan challenge
Steven Gerrard has paid tribute to “quality” Suso after the midfielder swapped Liverpool for AC Milan on Saturday.
The 21-year-old signed a four-year deal with AC Milan at the weekend after he failed to agree a new deal with the 18-time English champions.
Suso has been used sparingly by manager Brendan Rodgers this season, although he featured heavily in the Northern Irishman’s first Anfield campaign.
And the Liverpool captain clearly rated the young Spaniard judging by his glowing Instagram post in tribute to the new Milan signing on Wednesday morning.
Gerrard wrote: “All the best with your new challenge in Italy. Quality player and a top lad.”
The Milan signing made his last Liverpool appearance against Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup, scoring his only goal for the Merseyside outfit in extra time.
The Spanish midfielder spent last season on loan at La Liga side Almeria, scoring three goals and making seven assists in 26 games.
Suso, who moved to Liverpool from Cadiz in 2010, scored one goal in 21 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
