Kevin Strootman remembers his move to Rome in 2012 amid reports he could make switch to Manchester
Kevin Strootman has taken to Instagram to reflect on his Roma move in 2012 amid speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester United.
The Netherlands international continues to be linked with a move to the Red Devils as his former national team coach Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his midfield.
Strootman made his return from a serious knee injury earlier this season, and the 24-year-old talismanic midfielder has made two assists in five Serie A appearances.
And optimistic United supporters will hope Strootman is preparing for a fresh move in his career after the midfielder posted a snap of his arrival in the Italian capital two-and-a-half years ago.
Strootman posted the above photo and wrote on Instagram: “#tbt First time arrival at Fiumicino Roma”
Strootman scored six goals in 29 appearances in all competitions following his move from PSV Eindhoven last season before he suffered a serious knee injury.
The Dutch midfielder missed his country’s World Cup campaign due to the knee problem, as the Oranje finished in third place after beating hosts Brazil.
