Wayne Rooney posts old photo with legendary boxer Mike Tyson
Wayne Rooney was drawing inspiration from Mike Tyson on Thursday morning after the Manchester United striker posted a photo with the legendary boxer on his Instagram page.
The 29-year-old Red Devils skipper, who has scored eight goals in 18 Premier League games this season, was taking part in Instagram’s popular ‘Throwback Thursday’.
And the talismanic England skipper was looking fresh-faced in his snap with Tyson, who is a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Rooney posted the photo above and accompanied by the following caption: “TBT – When I met Mike Tyson, my favourite boxer of all time”
The Red Devils skipper was unable to help Louis van Gaal’s side avoid a fourth-round replay on Friday night as Cambridge United held out for a goalless draw with the 20-time English champions.
Rooney, who signed a new long-term United deal last year, has scored eight goals and has made four assists in 18 Premier League appearances after the striker was made captain at the start of the season.
United face Leicester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday.
