Mesut Ozil issues Arsenal rallying cry ahead of Brighton clash
Mesut Ozil is expecting Brighton to be difficult opponents as they look to knock the holders Arsenal out of the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.
Ozil is eagerly anticipating the match with the Seagulls having only just returned back from a three month injury and expressed that on his Instagram account.
Ozil said: “The title holder will be back in the ring tomorrow! We’re expecting our opponent to step on our feet.”
The Gunners midfielder added the picture above of Alexis Sanchez stepping on his feet and jokingly wrote: “Alexis has been the perfect example today #FACup#BHAvAFC #COYG.”
Sunday’s game will be Arsenal’s first away game in the FA Cup since their last visit to Brighton almost two years ago.
Arsenal won thanks to a Theo Walcott goal and Brighton have been through three managers since the clash but have gained some stability under Chris Hughton.
Arsene Wenger knows it will be a difficult game but is hoping the Gunners can continue where they left off against Manchester City after a 2-0 win last Sunday.
Wenger said: “Chris Hughton will give them his experience and his competence, of course. He knows how to prepare a team for a challenge like this.
“For us the challenge is to turn up with the same spirit and show that we can be consistent with our attitude game by game.”
Ozil will be hoping to play some part in the game, leaving Gunners fans salivating at the prospect of the German playing in tandem with the electrifying Sanchez.
