Theo Walcott has taken to social media to reflect on his arrival at Arsenal back in 2006.

The England international signed for the Gunners back on 20 January 2006 for an initial fee believed to be around £5m, which later rose to about £12.5m.

And the attacker, now 25, took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to share a picture of himself with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger taken after he joined the north London club nine years ago.

Walcott posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “9 years ago today …..”

The forward has endured a frustrating campaign so far this season after missing the second half of the 2013-14 campaign due to a serious knee injury.

He has been limited to just five appearances for Arsene Wenger’s men this term and has only started one game – the 2-0 win over Hull City in the FA Cup.

Walcott will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the competition on Sunday.
