Radamel Falcao’s agent aims dig at Man United boss Louis van Gaal
Jorge Mendes says he would have preferred Sir Alex Ferguson to be managing Manchester United
Radamel Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes has aimed a dig at Louis van Gaal by claiming that Sir Alex Ferguson would have been a better manager for his client.
The Colombia striker’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks due to his lack of playing time for the Red Devils.
Falcao, who joined United on a season-long loan deal from Monaco last summer, has only started eight Premier League games so far this term.
He has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford at the end of his loan spell in recent days after he was left out of the squad for the recent 1-0 defeat by Southampton.
And the striker’s agent has done little to quell the reports linking the forward with a move away from the Premier League side with his latest comments about his situation.
“I would have liked it if Falcao was with Sir Alex Ferguson,” Mendes told La Sexta.
“He is a player who needs to play 90 minutes and I don’t understand [why he isn’t].”
Mendes then went on to deliver a cryptic response when asked if Falcao could be heading to Real Madrid next season.
“Falcao will play for one of the seven best [teams] in the world next, but Real Madrid have Benzema,” he added.
