Rio Ferdinand praises David De Gea after Man United beat QPR
Rio Ferdinand felt David De Gea was difference between Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United
Rio Ferdinand singled out David De Gea for special praise after Manchester United were 2-0 winners against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The Red Devils goalkeeper, who is facing competition for a starting spot from Barcelona legend Victor Valdes, kept the Hoops at bay, making four saves.
Charlie Austin couldn’t find a way past the Spain international after the QPR striker scooped the Premier League’s player of the month award for December on Friday.
But QPR centre-half Ferdinand, who spent 14 years at United before he moved to Loftus Road last summer, felt Austin would have added to his 14 league goals but for De Gea.

Marouane Fellaini broke the deadlock for United in west London before Red Devils teenager James Wilson added a second in added time.
And De Gea, who has been linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks, was relieved to leave Loftus Road with maximum points.
