Tottenham can play under pressure, declares Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen reflects on yet another late winner for Tottenham
Christian Eriksen says Tottenham have shown that they can play under pressure after Spurs drew 2-2 with Sheffied United to reach the League Cup final.
The north London side appeared to be coasting to a clash against Chelsea in Wembley after Christian Eriksen gave Spurs a 2-0 aggregate lead at Bramall Lane.
It isn’t the first time we’ve scored in the last minute, is it?
However, Che Adam came off the bench to score twice and give the Blades a slender lead before Eriksen netted an 88th-minute equaliser to seal Tottenham’s progression.
The Denmark international has scored nine goals in all competitions this season and Eriksen was pleased with the north London side’s performance.
“Weird feelings. We fought well. We were in a good position but they came back. They put us under a lot of pressure,” Eriksen told Tottenham’s website.
“We showed that we can play under pressure and we showed that again. It isn’t the first time we’ve scored in the last minute, is it?”
Eriksen added: “It was a really nice feeling. Right after you score, you get a lot of thoughts and think of Wembley.”
Eriksen has made a habit of scoring dramatic late winners for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the Premier League this season.
The 22-year-old, who joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013, has scored 10 goals and has made one assist in 24 appearances in all competitions.
