Tottenham transfers: Pochettino discusses January window plans

Mauricio Pochettino says that Tottenham are unlikely to let any players leave the club this month

Mauricio Pochettino insists that Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of letting any players leave the club this month.

A number of Spurs stars have been linked with moves away from White Hart Lane in recent days, including the likes of Kyle Naughton and Roberto Soldado.

However, Pochettino is adamant that the north London club will do their best to keep hold of their top players this month as they look to push for silverware on four fronts this season.

“No player is for sale. We want to keep them all,” Pochettino told a Tottenham news conference on Tuesday.

“We need a strong squad, but there is nothing else to say. I am happy with the squad.

“I am happy with Soldado. I expect him to be here, we have four competitions to play in and we need a strong squad.

“All players are in my plans. I expect all players to be here. We have a lot of games. We are still in four competitions. I think we need a strong squad to take all the games we have in the future.”

Tottenham take on Sheffield United at White Hart Lane in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final tie on Wednesday night.

Spurs head into the game after beating Sunderland 2-1 at White Hart Lane in their most recent Premier League outing last weekend.

The north London side are currently sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and two behind local rivals Arsenal.
