Jack Wilshere delivered an update on his recovery from his ankle injury on Instagram on Friday morning.

The England international has been out of action since November after suffering the problem during the 2-1 loss to Manchester United and requiring an operation.

Wilshere was initially ruled out for three months after going under the knife in December but Arsene Wenger recently confirmed that he could be set to make his comeback in late February.

And speaking in a Q&A session on Arsenal’s official Instagram account on Friday morning, Wilshere said that he was progressing well.

“Thanks for asking about my injury,” said Wilshere. “It’s coming on really well. I’ve started kicking a ball and I’m running. I’m just trying to get my fitness levels up and hopefully I’ll be back soon.”

The 23-year-old warmed up with Arsene Wenger’s first-team in training last week as he looks to regain his fitness.

Before his injury setback, Wilshere had scored one goal and made one assist in nine Premier League games for the north London club.

Arsenal travel to Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
