Arsenal and Tottenham will finish in top four, says Charlie Nicholas

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to finish in the top four this season, according to Charlie Nicholas.
Spurs hoisted themselves about the Gunners and into fifth place after a 2-1 win against Arsene Wenger’s side in Saturday’s north London derby at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United, whilst Arsenal are a further point off the pace in the race for a place in next season’s Champions League.
However, former Gunner Nicholas is confident Arsenal can capitalise on a kind run of fixtures in the coming months.
“I still think Arsenal should finish third,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“As much as it’s painful for Arsenal fans, including myself, you’ve got to put your hands up and admit the best team won on Saturday.
“It’s certainly exciting with Arsenal still favourites [to finish in the top four] and Spurs showing the form to prove they’re capable but Arsenal have the personality to bounce back and have a pretty decent run of games. This is usually the time of the season when they go on a run.”
Tottenham make the trip to Liverpool on Tuesday night as Mauricio Pochettino’s men look to record back-to-back wins against top-four rivals in the Premier League.
Nicholas reckons Brendan Rodgers’ side and Tottenham are a much bigger threat to Arsenal’s top-four ambitions that Louis van Gaal’s stuttering Manchester United side.
“I haven’t been impressed by Manchester United and think that Tottenham and Liverpool are bigger threats, although European football will be a hindrance to both of them,” Nicholas added.
“Spurs are capable of winning at Liverpool but it’s a big challenge for them. If they can win at Anfield and maintain this form then I’d actually expect Spurs and Arsenal both to finish in the top four.”
Liverpool are five points adrift of fourth-placed United ahead of Tuesday night’s Anfield clash.
