The Czech Republic international has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this season following the return of Thibaut Courtois from loan.
He [Cech] is getting to the best age for a goalkeeper. I have experienced it myself, when all of a sudden physique comes together with experience
Cech, 32, was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal are believed to be keeping an eye on Cech’s situation after Arsene Wenger dropped first-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny earlier this year.
Speaking to talkSPORT, former Gunners goalkeeper Lehmann insisted Cech still has plenty to offer Chelsea or another club.
“Courtois is probably the best [young] talent around and he has done really great so far, but in tight games he still has to prove he is up to the challenge of what Petr Cech has done.
“He [Cech] is getting to the best age for a goalkeeper. I have experienced it myself, when all of a sudden physique comes together with experience. The best years are still ahead of him.”
Cech has won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Europa League, four FA Cups and three League Cups during his Chelsea career.
The Czech shot stopper, who has won the Premier League golden glove on three occasions, has made 483 appearances for the Blues following his move from Rennes in 2004.
