Arsenal transfers: Malaga midfielder fuels talk of Gunners move
Ignacio Camacho has hinted that he could be set to leave Malaga at the end of the season
Ignacio Camacho has fuelled the speculation linking him with a transfer to Arsenal this summer, by admitting that he could be set to leave Malaga.
The 24-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League in the January transfer window but a switch to England failed to materialise.
Camacho has been touted as a target for both Arsenal and Liverpool in recent months as both clubs look to bolster their midfield options.
The Spaniard has now hinted that he could be set to leave the La Liga outfit in the summer, admitting that he has been flattered to learn of interest in his services from other clubs.
“If I do leave here then I want it to be done well and that Malaga are not angry with me,” Camacho is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“But I also think you need to look at the market and its value in case you leave. We all know Malaga’s situation, which isn’t too bad, but they could be forced to sell for a reasonable price.
“It’s always good when teams are looking at you because it means you are doing things right, both individually and collectively. The situation at Malaga is good and that benefits me.
“I have a contract here but if anyone wants to come in for me, then they will have to negotiate.”
Camacho has scored two goals and made one assist in 17 La Liga games for Malaga so far this season. He has score once in the Copa del Rey for the Spanish side.
Camacho’s current contract with Malaga runs until the summer of 2019.
