Aviva Premiership: Jack Nowell available for Exeter Chiefs
England release winger back to club from training camp in Surrey for trip to The Stoop to take on Harlequins this weekend
Jack Nowell is available for Exeter Chiefs after England released the winger to his club for this weekend’s Aviva Premiership action.
The 21-year-old Cornishman had been training with the Red Rose as part of their preparations for their RBS 6 Nations clash against Ireland on Sunday 1 March.
It’ll be good for Jack to get some more game time and we are looking forward to seeing how he and the other guys play for their clubs this weekend ahead of selection next week.
He played in all five of England’s matches in last year’s championship, scoring his maiden try against Italy in Rome, but knee surgery ruled him out of the summer tour to New Zealand.
Having recovered and rediscovered his impressive club form, Nowell is in line to make his first England start in almost 12 months when England visit Dublin.
After his try-scoring heroics for the Chiefs in their 46-17 home win over Newcastle Falcons in the Premiership last week, head coach Rob Baxter is keen to have one of his star players back as they head to The Stoop to take on Harlequins.
“We’ve had a good three days’ training including this morning’s session with Oxford University,” Lancaster said.
