Blind, Gerrard and more: Liverpool and Man United stars embrace Valentine’s Day
Daley Blind and Steven Gerrard get into the Valentine's Day spirit
Valentine’s Day has provided the Premier League’s biggest names with a chance to show their softer sides, and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard led his fellow professionals in honouring their significant other halves.
The 34-year-old is set to miss Liverpool’s FA Cup fifth-round clash at Crystal Palace due to a hamstring problem, providing the Reds captain with additional time to relax with the most important women in his life.
Gerrard has been married to his partner Alex for seven years, and the Liverpool legend posted above photo with his wife and three daughters, Lilly-Ella, Lexie and Lourdes, to Instagram.
Gerrard wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day to my gorgeous wife and gorgeous girls”
His fellow Scouser Wayne Rooney posted a romantic photo with his wife Coleen ahead of Manchester United’s clash against League One side Preston North End on Monday night.
Rooney said: “Happy Valentine’s Day to my lovely wife Coleen x”
Meanwhile, Rooney’s Red Devils team-mate Daley Blind was enjoying some attention from his girlfriend Candy Rae-Fleur, a Dutch model and dancer.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” wrote Blind.
Proving the United squad are truly a loved-up bunch, United centre-half Marcos Rojo snapped a photo with his wife and posted a romantic message for his wife.
Rojo said: “Happy Valentine’s Day to my love @eugelusardo I love you lots”
Finally, former Red Devils defender Phil Neville has room to improve on the romantic front after he revealed his one true love on Saturday morning – and worryingly for his wife, it wasn’t her.
