Cazorla and Ozil can’t play in same Arsenal side, says ex-Red Devil

Keith Gillespie says Arsene Wenger can't play Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil in the same team

Keith Gillespie doesn’t believe that Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla can play in the same team as it affects the balance of the side.

After returning from a three-month injury lay-off, Ozil has been brought straight back into the first-team by Arsene Wenger and has often played as either a number 10, or wide on the left.

Cazorla has been deployed in a deeper role, but Gillespie insists that both of them cannot function in the same team, and it is the Spaniard that should play further forward.

However, Thierry Henry felt the game wasn’t won or lost because of personnel, but it was down to a lack of urgency and tempo in Arsenal’s football.

“The players got frustrated,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“The passing at the back wasn’t very good – no real pace on it. There was no sense of urgency to try to win the game, and Monaco had an easy one today.”

Arsenal have a mountain to climb following their 3-1 loss to Monaco at home and these sentiments were echoed by Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger.

He said: “The task is massive now and the third goal makes it even more difficult, but we will have a go of course and see what we can do there.”
