Chelsea midfielder praises Eden Hazard and Willian
John Obi Mikel lifts the lid on Eden Hazard and Willian's training ground brilliance
John Obi Mikel has named Eden Hazard and Willian as the most skilful players in the Chelsea squad.
The Belgium international has been a driving force behind Chelsea’s Premier League title challenge, scoring nine goals and making five assists in 25 games.
Willian has also contributed towards the west London side’s rise to the top of the table, netting a dramatic 90th-minute winner against Everton on Wednesday night.
Chelsea midfielder Mikel sympathised with the Premier League defences after the Nigeria international discussed the challenge of facing the pair in training.
“I’ll go for Willian and Eden Hazard [as Chelsea’s most skilful players],” Mikel told Chelsea’s website.
“They’re both very quick and technical. It’s very difficult to get the ball off them. Willian is just too quick, he has quick feet. He waits for you to make the first move and when you do, he’s gone.
“Hazard doesn’t run around much in training, but you just give him the ball and let him do what he does. What you can do sometimes is just kick them!”
Chelsea make the trip to the French capital on Tuesday night for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash against Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blues have enjoyed an extended break after their 1-0 win against Everton after the Premier League leaders failed to make the FA Cup fifth round following a shock 4-2 defeat by Bradford City at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
