Daley Blind: I’m learning from Angel di Maria at Man United
Daley Blind becomes the latest player to heap praise on Manchester United's Angel di Maria
Daley Blind admits that he is relishing playing alongside Angel di Maria at Manchester United.
The Argentina international has scored three goals and made seven assists in 17 Premier League games for Louis van Gaal’s men this season following his summer switch to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.
And Netherlands international Blind says that he is learning a lot from lining up with Di Maria at Old Trafford.
“I remember playing against him in the Champions League,” Blind told United’s website.
“I recall the games against Real Madrid, as they were hard games for Ajax. Everybody at Real Madrid is a great player but I especially know Angel now, and I know how good he can be.
“I really enjoy playing with him and I am learning from him. It’s nice to work with him and see it from close quarters.
“He is always smiling! He’s getting English lessons now so it’s nice to get a word sometimes to laugh about. It’s nice to have him in the team.”
Blind has scored two goals and made one assist in 13 Premier League games for United so far this season following his transfer from Ajax last summer.
He netted United’s important equaliser at Upton Park last weekend as the Red Devils came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against West Ham.
He was also named man of the match as United beat Leicester City 3-1 in the Premier League last month.
United take on Preston on Monday before a Premier League clash with Swansea City next weekend.
