Daniel Sturridge: Liverpool can go on unstoppable FA Cup run

Daniel Sturridge runs the rule on Liverpool's FA Cup prospects

Daniel Sturridge believes Liverpool can be unstoppable in the FA Cup if the Reds can produce their best performances in the remaining rounds.

Brendan Rodgers’ side continue their road to Wembley as they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the fifth round on Saturday evening.

We know on any day if we play the football we can, we are unstoppable

Liverpool are unbeaten in nine Premier League games, and they’ve only lose one match in 15 games in all competitions since mid-December.

England striker Sturridge, who returned from a five-month injury lay-off earlier this month, is confident Liverpool can go a long way in the competition.

“With cup football anything can happen,” Sturridge told Liverpool’s website.

“The Palace game away will be difficult. But we’re looking forward to it. It’s a big competition for everyone to want to win, with Chelsea and [Manchester] City out of it.

“But there’s still Arsenal, [Manchester] United and it’s cup football, it’s one game so anyone can progress. I wouldn’t like to disregard anyone.

“The Europa League is a great opportunity for us to go out there and stake a claim for that. We play some great football and I believe in the philosophy the manager has.

“Everyone else does and we know on any day if we play the football we can, we are unstoppable. We have no doubts about what we can do.”

Liverpool came from 1-0 behind to beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 thanks to a brace of goals in the final minute at Macron Stadium in FA Cup fourth-round replay earlier in February.

The Reds missed out on a place in the Capital One Cup final after Branislav Ivanovic scored an extra-time winner against Liverpool in the second leg at Stamford Bridge last month.
