Diego Costa: Chelsea have to fight and battle for titles

Chelsea striker Diego Costa issues a rousing rallying call

Diego Costa says Chelsea must continue to battle and fight to ensure the Blues end up with silverware at the end of the season.

The west London side are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table after Willian scored a 89th-minute strike to seal a 1-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Chelsea have the chance to secure their first trophy of the season when Jose Mourinho’s men face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley on 1 March.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Costa has his sights set firmly on winning silverware this season: “We must keep on improving, which is what the manager demands for each game.

“If we put our game into practice, we are going to fight for every title. We must be ourselves. We have to fight and battle.

“The most difficult game is the next one to come.”

Chelsea make the trip to the French capital next Tuesday to face Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Costa is expected to start against Laurent Blanc’s side after the Spain international missed Chelsea’s last three Premier League games due to a FA suspension.
