Eden Hazard sets himself Chelsea goal target for the rest of the season
Eden Hazard wants to take his goal tally for Chelsea up to at least 20 this term
Eden Hazard wants take his Chelsea goal-tally to at least 20 this season.
The Belgium international signed a new five-and-a-half year contract with the west London club on Thursday to put an end to the speculation surrounding his future.
Hazard has been one of the key players behind Chelsea’s Premier League title charge this season, and has scored 13 goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men.
However, the 24-year-old is determined to double that tally before the end of the campaign as he looks to help the Blues secure silverware.
“It’s my objective to score more goals every season. Even if I don’t score I always give my best on the pitch, but obviously for an offensive player the most important things are to win, score goals and make assists,” Hazard told Chelsea’s website.
“I hope I can reach maybe 20 or 25 goals before the end of the season, that would be very good for me and the team.”
Chelsea are currently seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have a free weekend to prepare for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain next week.
Hazard joined Chelsea in a reported £32m deal from French side Lille back in 2012. He has notched up five assists in the Premier League so far this season.
