Former Man United star runs the rule over ‘unbelievable’ James Wilson
Clayton Blackmore reckons James Wilson will become an important player for club and country
James Wilson has the potential to become an important player for England and Manchester United, according to Clayton Blackmore.
The 19-year-old has been at the club since the age of eight and broke onto the scene last season when he scored twice on his first start.
His first goal of this season came against QPR at Loftus Road, and the former Wales international admits he would most like to play alongside the talented youngster.
“The young lad James Wilson who I think is going to be unbelievable,” Blackmore told The Sport Review.
Wilson has featured 12 times already this season, and believes more experience in and around the Old Trafford first team will lead to brighter things.
“He’ll be first down in an England sheet in a year or so, when he gets a few more games. He’s still young and learning the game, but he’ll be fantastic,” Blackmore added.
In addition to Wilson, the former United midfielder, who has 22 Welsh caps, added he would enjoy to play with some of the club’s summer imports.
He said: “I’d like to play with everyone. Di Maria is a fantastic player, Falcao…”
Blackmore, another product of the famous Old Trafford youth setup, joined the club in 1982, going onto make 186 league appearances, winning multiple honours including the inaugural Premier League in 1992/93.
