Guinness PRO12 disciplinary officials face a busy week after three players were cited after Round 15’s matches last weekend.

Glasgow Warriors lock Leone Nakarawa has been cited for allegedly striking an opponent with his head in the second half of their 19-16 win over the Ospreys.

The incident was initially reviewed by referee George Clancy and TMO Jim Yuille, but the Fijian international escaped any punishment during the match.

He was later cited by Citing Commissioner John Montgomery (Scotland).

Ulster centre Stuart McCloskey will also appear before a disciplinary committee for an alleged dangerous tackle at the breakdown as he lifted Edinburgh flanker Hamish Watson above the horizontal in the second half of their 20-17 win.

McCloskey was red carded by Welsh referee Leighton Hodges following a review of the incident at BT Murrayfield on Friday night, with a number of pundits later believing the incident warranted a yellow card.

Newport Gwent Dragons lock Rynard Landman is the third player to be cited this week after he was red carded by Lloyd Linton for allegedly striking the head of Connacht out-half Jack Carty with an elbow when attempting to charge down a kick.

Linton had considered a yellow card for the offence, but after advice from his assistants and TMO Derek Bevan, as well as a further video review of the incident, the stand-in Dragons captain was red carded in the 15th minute of the their 30-25 defeat to Connacht at Rodney Parade on Sunday afternoon.

Landman later tweeted about the incident, which led to his team-mates to battle on without him, but the South African stopped short of an apology.

“It is a kick in the pants for him to understand his responsibility and roles as an overseas player and as a captain while Lee Byrne is out,” director of rugby Lyn Jones told the South Wales Argus.

“There’s no need to raise an arm when charging a kick down.”

The disciplinary hearings for all three players will be held later this week.
