Hugo Lloris: Tottenham have great working mentality

Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris says there is a long, long way to go in top-four race

Hugo Lloris has praised Tottenham Hotspur’s “great working mentality” ahead of their clash at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Spurs have won four successive Premier League games after a thrilling 2-1 victory over north London rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

I think the key is to work hard every day and that is a great working mentality in the team

Mauricio Pochettino’s side can beat another of their top-four rivals tonight, although Liverpool have emerged victorious in the last four meetings between these sides.

Tottenham captain Lloris insisted Spurs aren’t getting carried away in the hunt for a Champions League spot, whilst the France goalkeeper praised Tottenham’s work ethic.

“The season is very, very long and, of course, there are some dips in the season because of performance and results,” Loris is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“But I think the key is to work hard every day and that is a great working mentality in the team. We try to do what the manager expects and after we try to do our best on the pitch.

“It is more than individual performances – I think we try to improve in our team performance.”

Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in their last four Premier League games, whilst the Reds have managed five shutouts in their last five clashes with the north London side.

Pochettino’s men have scored eight goals in their last three matches, whilst in-form Spurs striker has netted four times in his last two Premier League appearances.
